Problem activating macro within a form

I am having a problem auto-activating a macro when I change data in a
field on a form that is a combo box. I have a fair understanding of
Microsoft Access but am not a programmer so I am trying to do this with
a macro. Without going into detail I am able to update the combo box,
and hence the drop down values, with my macro, when I run the macro
outside of the form. It works fine, alone. BUT I cannot make it work
when I try to type a new value into the form. I have tried and tested
many variations, (not in list,on lost focus, on change) nothing works.
I have allowed the property of limit to list so as to allow adds. What
am I doing wrong?

I have found that the timing as to when a table is updated from a form
is not always what one thinks.

What event did you attach the macro to? The OnNotInList event?

Might be about time to get used to the water and plunge into playing
with VBA. One of the easier ways to start is by converting simple
macros into functions/modules. Just right-click on the macro you want
to convert and choose "Save As" and then choose "Module". then you can
start dissecting them. Sorry, only way to learn is to get dirty.
Happy exploring. If you need help on the VBA stuff, just open up help
from *within* your converted macro (in other words, once you've opened
the converted macro).

Hope this gets you started...
