using SoapExtensionAttribute to specify soapextension

I'm trying to define a SoapExtensionAttribute to tag web service method calls
that should run through a SoapExtension. However, I can only get it to work
when the SoapExtension is defined in the config file.

Are there any known issues with using the former method?

Thanks--

I figured out what went wrong. I had added the SoapExtensionAttribute to the
proxy web serivce method in a partial class. This didn't work. When I put the
attribute in the Reference.cs file, it did work.

So, amending my question, is there a way to use a partial class in this
manner so that I won't lose the tie when I regenerate my proxies?
