Mixed language C++ C# lost reference path on rebuild

We have a solution composed of managed C++, unmanaged C++, and C#
dlls. All dlls wonce built reside in the same output folder

The C# GUI dll has a using for the managed C++ dll and a reference to the dll in its references and the path to the folder of dll is also specified in
the list of property reference paths.

If the managed c++ dll is modified and rebuilt the C# looses knowledge and the reference to the managed C++ DLL must be deleted and readded

Is there anyway to prevent this?

I had that trouble with some DLLs too.
I think if you click on the reference in the soultion explorer, you will see the properties window change.
I thought I saw an option that said like "ignore version" or "require absolute version" or something to that effect.
See if you can find that property and set it to the correct thing.

Unfortunatly, I'm not sure it works for unmanged DLLs, but it worked for managed DLLs so it might.
