.NET Web services and Timers

2 New Member
Will a Timer keep my web service alive?

The reason I ask is, I have a disconnected dataset cached at the web service tier. Any changes (inserts, updates and deletes) only alters the dataset. I use the Timer / TimerCallback to trigger a method that executes the various DataAdapter.Update to sync any changes to it's respective tables in the RDBMS.

I really need my web service to stay alive.

Kind Regards,
