i have this code which makes thumbnails,iam writing last 2 lines

Response.ContentType = "image/jpeg";

Response.BinaryWrite(imageContent);

now my questions it writes on the page this thumbnail

but

i want this image to be linked to <img src=""> tag

how to do that.

You try writing this to a label but the client side you won't be able to. Try the asp:image control. HTH.

The way I solved this was to create a page called say "ServeImage.aspx"
And it took a value to determine which picture, so I would call it like this say:
"ServerImage.aspx?img=logo.jpg"
That page would go and grab the data for logo.jpg (and in your case create the thumbnail data) then set the Response.ContentType and send the data.

Then in my actual pages where I wanted it, I would add the<img src=""/> object and have the src be like:
<img src="ServerImage.aspx?img=logo.jpg" alt="logo.jpg" />
