File transfer over intranet

I want just to do file transfer over intranet it may be on different network domain. So, which is most sutiable way for developing.(Web Services or .NET Remoting)
by keeping in mind in terms of data security, reliability, performance etc.

Please justify ur answer.

Remoting.

Since its secured than web services.
U have control over both the ends.
Remoting uses RPC Encoding and webservice not.
In web service datatransfer in form of plain XML.
