Loss of data between IE5 and IE7

I work for a large company in South Africa. We currently use IE7 as a front
end to a MIS system. The problem we have is that new machine being roled out
to manager runs with XP and IE7. These machines now have a problem accessing
the application. All the menus and that works (ASP) the screen look normal
((HTML), but the tables with data it is suppose to display does not come up.
No error message either. These tables are created using XML. We currently use
XML-SDK 2.5.

Question is XML-SDK6 downward compatible and can it just be installed and
all is well. or is there some development that has to happen

I have had issues with msxml3.dll in windows xp. reinstalling the sdk fixed
the problem. it probably is something to do with unregistering of this dll.

But first i have to mention that it is not good practise to upgrade systems
without first testing application compatability issues.

secondly, you might want to try uninstalling all instances of xml sdk and
reinstall the latest one. Better to do this on a virtual machine that mimics
production.
