Internet Explorer 7 - not loading video's

I am using Internet Explorer 7 and if I try to view a video (YouTube or
similar) I get a messgage saying that I have either an outdated version of
Macromedia Flask or Java is turned off. Java is turned on and even after I
have been through the process of downloading the latest version of Macromedia
i still get the same message.

Any help welcomed (I could not find a Group dedicated to IE7)

You couldn't find a group dedicated to IE7 so rather than post your
question to a group that has *some* relation to IE like, say,
microsoft.public.internetexplorer, you posted it to
microsoft.public.dotnet.general, which has nothing related to internet
explorer in the title.

This is a .Net Programming newsgroup. If you want IE help, post your
question to an IE newgroup.

I think Microsoft's web based forum is the problem - It's always been a POS.
There have been numerous, off-topic posts in a lot of the groups lately.

Yes, you're right, there's definitely something wrong there. I went there
after one of the OPs gave me this link:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities...s/default.aspx

I did a search on "internet explorer 7" and the posts seem to be posted in
the internet explorer newsgroup.

But if you log in using your Live id and then ask to post a new message, it
comes up with a new form and on top is a dropdown list for the Discussion
Group, and it doesn't show the names of the groups, just part of the names.
And there are several entries for "General Discussions", but it doesn't
show the first part, like "microsoft.public.dotnet".

So they can't tell what group they are posting to. That explains why there
have been posts asking for someone to e-mail them and tell them which group
their posting went to.

And here's some irony. On the bottom of that form is a label that says
"Advanced Options". If you click that, it brings up a box that says
"Cross-post to these discussion groups -- use full USENET designation". How
are they supposed to *know* the full USENET designation when they don't
even show them in the dropdown list?
