I have to draw a graph in vb.net which represents a continuously changing data in a database.To specify it correctly,i want to show id's placed in database in a graph.

Hi there,

the most flexible method of creating charts in .Net is the use of images.

Write a function which returns an image like:

Public Function GetChart() as Image
Dim tempImage as Image = new Bitmap(800,400)
Dim tempGraphics as Graphics = Graphics.FromImage(tempImage)

use the Graphics methods like DrawString, DrawRectangle, DrawLine
to create the chart itself from your current data

GetChart = tempImage
End Function

You may then use this function in a lot of ways:
- set the BackgroundImage of a form or panel
- assign it to the image property of a picture box
- draw it to a PrintDocument

It takes some time to do all the scaling, axes and chart items all by yourself but it is damned fast and flexible
