Help: Can Manifest work with VC6.0?

2 New Member
Hi,

I have 2 questions, and appreciate if you can help me:

1. Is MANIFEST file a must for VC8.0 application to work?

2. Is it possible to cross-link an application in VC6.0 to a DLL produced by VC8.0? I have tried this, and it results in runtime error (i.e. application has made an attempt to load the runtime library incorrectly). This is despite I have ensured that the LIB is pointing to the directory where MSVCRT.lib is found in VC8.0.

Thank you.
