Editing data in grid, creates duplicate record

Hello, everyone. Something strange is happening when I edit a record in the
datagrid.
I have a cust_id field that, when the grid is in edit mode, users can
change. I don't really want to display the cust_id, but I am using it to
pass data to display the records. Anyway, when a user changes the cust_id,
it creates a duplicate record with the cust_id the user entered.
The UPDATE statement doesn't include the cust_id field to update. Any
suggestions, comments, help would be greatly appreciated.
