I have a web server running (IIS 6) my .NET 2.0 web app and my web app uses
System.Net.Mail to send EMail's to customers. The EMail host
(mail.speakeasy.net) I was using to does not support relay (reverse DNS) for
the EMail accounts I was using (the accounts do require authentication which
I provide correctly).
In my development environment my web app didn't have any problems sending
the EMail (was it using Outlook Express to do this?) -- but when I deployed
it to my web server I started getting SMTP exceptions indicating
mail1.speakeasy.net does not support relay EMail...etc. etc.
Can I use the SMTP Virtual Server (displayed in IIS 6 MMC) to do my EMail
sending? If so, what do I need to do to set up SMTP?
Thanks, Rob.
