use System.Security.Cryptography.MD5:

from the docs:
byte[] data = new byte[DATA_SIZE];
// This is one implementation of the abstract class MD5.
MD5 md5 = new MD5CryptoServiceProvider();
byte[] result = md5.ComputeHash(data);
