Short Cut key problem

I've implemented a managed DataGridView control in an un-managed dialog box
using CWindowFormsControl class. It works great and provides all the
functionallity of the new grid in an old project.
But I cannot overcome one problem. The control appears to swallow short cut
key combinations instead of allowing then to be executed by the parent. I've
tracked this down to a call in COccManager::IsDialogMessage that calls
TranslateAccelerator for the window with focus. The grid returns S_OK so the
short cut is not implemented. It works fine if the grid does not have focus.

Is it possible the DataGridView is implemented to handle certain short cut
combinations for its own use?
The documentation on COccManager implies I can override the call to
IsDialogMessage but I can't see how to implemnent it.
Any help is appreciated.
