I have a simple simple ws that runs fine locally. I'd like to put it up
on a public asp.net website as a test. All of the examples seem to stop
describing the creation of a bare bones ws with a local test. I'm not
sure what I need to put up on the public website, and where they should
be placed.
What I think is, the asmx file and the dll in the bin folder need to go
up to the public website. Is that all? And, where do they go? I guess
the asmx could go almost anywhere, but the dll in currently in the
project bin folder, and I don't think the website needs one of those?

OK, I boldy went where I have never gone before...apparently the
web.config file, the .aspx file, and the bin folder with contents, all
placed in the root dir are sufficient.

If you're using VS.NET you can simply do a "Copy" under the "Project"
menu ( as long as the remote server is available on your network ). It
will let you automatically copy a whole project ( just the files need to
run the web application ) or just the files you want to update.
