Compiling in Debug Mode, but not in Release Mode

in "c:\Root.Aspects.Exceptions\example.vb(20)" I receive an:
error BC30456 'Insrumentation' is not a member of 'Aspects.

In the Solution the following projects exist:
Root.Aspects.Exceptions
Root.Aspects.Instrumentation
Root.AppName.Business
Root.AppName.Data
Root.AppName.UI.Web
Root.AppName.UI.WinForm

But.. Here's the wierd issue. It's received when compiling in Release Mode,
but not Debug mode.

I cannot resolve calls from one project to another project. The class being
called is "Protected". It works just fine in Debug mode! Can anyone explain
what would cause this kind of error to occur in one compile mode only? More
importantly, why it wouldn't show up in a debug compile? What is the
difference between the compile modes, and how they resolve namespaces and
Protected classes in other projects. I cannot find any information where
someone has had a similar instance of this problem. HELP!! I'm ready to
release this application!!

Are you aware that in your error message that you quote below, it shows
Instrumentation spelled as Insrumentation? Is a typo you made when making
this post or is this the actual message you get from VS.NET? If it's from
VS.NET, it's because you've spelled the word wrong.

Sorry, typo on my part.. I had to change the message because I'm working on
an app that deals with a lot of confidential info.

Does anybody know the difference between debug compiles and release
compiles? That's my main question.. An article I can read perhaps?
