forms authentication

Hi,
I am trying to do forms authentication. But what I am doing is a little
complex, I think; and, I cant find any documentation out there on it. What
I am trying to do is forms authentication across applications where the two
applications reside on different servers. How do I do this? From the best
I can tell (from trying it) you can change the path in the web.config file
to be an http address or to a share on another computer. Can anyone help
me figure out how to get around this dilemma? Thanks
Paul
