I working on a batch process that goes to different url's and grabs their
source code.
I have used both the WebRequest and WebClient form of doing this and both
work on consistently work on certain servers and both consistently bomb out
on certain servers. I have read that this is because the WebClient uses the
WebRequest object to do it's work.
At any rate, I at first that this exception was thrown because the page that
I was failing to pull from did not have
<html><head></head><body></body></html> tags in it. It is just a form with
tables.
Take a look for yourself
http://feeds.citysearch.com/guide/to...ontext=generic
However, I tested this hypothesis by taking that page and putting it on one
of our own servers and then trying pull from it. I was able to pull from it
successfully.
My hunch is that there is something wrong with the server that I am trying
to pull from and I was wondering what that may be. Does anyone know how the
server would contribute to this error? What do I need to tell the company
that owns the server?
Thanks in advance!!
