how to resolve how many places refer to a string or object?

ok so lets say i have a string that got passed into a method by ref but i
want to see how many other places that string is refered to is this
possible?

Daniel,

Why you pass the String by Ref?

As answer on your question, use search in the IDE this is a design question
not a run question in my opinion.
