We have our product running on a terminal server environment and have
occasionally had an inpage operation exception occur during heavy processing
loads. The timing of this exception is random.
The system logs have the following at the same time as the failure in the
application:
Application popup: Windows - Delayed Write Failed : Windows was unable to
save all the data for the file <filename removed>. The data has been lost.
This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network
connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere
It was noticed that the memory usage was normal, but the number of file
handles was very high (~30000) at the time of the failure. NT 4.0 and 2000
had a much lower limit on file handles. Would the file handles be part of the
problem or could this be a problem with the connection to the file server (on
a 1GB switch, I believe) for this server?
Any help appreciated,
Richard
