Sort Results Different is dataset and dataview

Rob
Hi
I have a dataset that is ordered by the primary key, but when I view it in a dataview with the sort propery filled in with the primary key, the order is different. The data that seems to cause the problem has a dash in it

The dataset records are in this order

bc-misc-label-rpt.exe
bc-MiscLabelPrint.exe
bc-printer-report.exe
bclabelprint.exe

The dataview records are in this order
bclabelprint.exe
bc-MiscLabelPrint.exe
bc-misc-label-rpt.exe
bc-printer-report.exe

Does anyone know what is causing this

I am displaying the dataview records in a datagrid, clicking on a record that I want, and using the dataview find function to retrieve the index to the dataset for the record I want to view/change in another form that is databound to the dataset, and since the order is different, I cannot rely on this function to get my index

Also
Is there a way to find an index to a dataset without going through all the records until you find a match? I know there is the findby function for datasets, but that returns a datarow, not the index

Thank
