No-touch deployment issue with IE5.5

All,
I have just spend days trying to figure out what was going wrong with
no-touch deployment on our app.

Basically the problem I have got is that the assemblies are downloaded
all the time when the client is IE5.5.

When accessing the same app from IE6.0 I can see that IIS returns a
304 status code (not changed) to the client and it is effectively
using the downloaded cache.

Does anybody know why the same feature does not work in IE 5.5 ? And
how can I fix this as our users are both IE 5.5 and 6 ?

Regards,
Francis
