We have a huge project, the solutuion spans 50 projects growing. Everytime I
want to start the project I have to wait nearly over 1 minute for the
compiler to complete building. This is unaccaptable.
I thought about loading only the project I need into visual studio and not
the whole solution. The problem is that the compiler tells me it cannot find
the referenced dlls (project references) although they are all lying in
their bin and obj...

Hi,
I am running v1.1.4322 on Win2K server and unable to debug a ASP.Net
application running locally, using a full URL (ie www.mysite.com).
When I hit F5, I get the following error message:
<debugger_error_message>
Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the
web server.
The project is not configured to be debugged.

When I run an ASP.Net application I am getting the following error:
"Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web
server. The project is not configured to be debugged."
I checked and made sure the Machine Debug Manager is running on the server,
made sure the web.comfit file has debug=true. Mine is:
<compilation defaultLanguage="vb" debug="true" />
I also checked the directory executions permissions and it...

Hi,
Because of reuse, I need to mix C# project and VB.net
project. To illustrate the problem, I have built 3 simple
projects:
1) C# library--projc (has one class "Manager")
2) vb.net library--projb (has one class "Bob")
3) vb.net web form--projweb (has one web form with a
label on it)
Here are the code:

hi ,
I am not sure but I think it might be to avoid heap fragmentation due
to several malloc calls. Are there any strong reason ? What are the
other things that should take care when we implement a memory manager ,
like i) garabage collector kind of thing , ii) Safe Free of pointer in
wrapper of Free functions etc .
Thanks

I'm having a problem building a solution in VS2003 (.NET 1.1) on
Windows XP. I get the error:
"Unable to open Web project 'projname'. The file path
'C:\app-1.6.0.600\solution\projname' does not correspond to the URL
'http://localhost/projname'. The two need to map to the same server
location."
What is frustrating me is that the error message is technically
correct; that particular URL is not pointing at that specific system
path. In...

Is there a way I can disable Web Deploy Project to run while I am in debug
mode?
I think Web Deploy Project is very foolish, it could not detect if code of a
website is changed or not, it will load "aspnet_merge.exe"
"aspnet_compiler.exe"anyway, everytime when I load/debug a site, thus it
causes my machine to spend a lot of time to compile before I make some minor
change to other projects inside same solution.

When creating a new VB Web Application Project with VS2008, there are several
settings (compiler settings, option strict, etc) that appear both in the
web.config file and "My Project". I'm wondering what takes precedent, what
the benefit of using one vs. the other is, and what happens if they conflict?

Hello,
I have an existing (WPF) Class Library project that I'd like to add a WPF
Custom Control to. However, when I try to Add New Item, that isn't one of
the available options. Perhaps this is a brain freeze, but what could I
possibly be missing?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
