Execution of code makes a Windows 2003 server crash completely

Hello everybody,

I'm the administrator of our network and we have a problem with our Windows
server 2003 standard.
Recently I've installed the server on our network and promoted it to domain
controller.
Everything works fine. Our R&D department is developing a program that's
created with c-sharp
and runs in .NET (I hope my explanation is correct, because I'm not
familiair with programming!)
The programs opens a zip file, extracts the files, makes some calculations
and then inserts the information
into a SQL database (SQL server 2000 sp3, installed on the same server). But
when the programs tries
to extract the files and writes them to a directory, something (we don't
know what) goes wrong and
after that point the server starts to become instable and after 5 minutes
the server hangs completely.
The only thing left to do is turning the server off and on.
When the server becomes instable, it's not possible to execute any programs
anymore. But nothing strange
shows up in the taskmanager. No excessive CPU usage or memory usage. No
weird processes, nothing.
Also nothing is reported in the event viewer, other then that the domain
controller has crashed and tries
to restore AD. We have also installed the latest patches and service packs.
The R&D department says that
it has nothing to do with the use of the SQL server, but something with the
..NET part.

Ok, it's not lot of information and I know that it's difficult to give a
complete solution... but matbe it's possible
to find out what goes wrong? Does anybody have a clue were to look for? The
sad thing is that the server is
a domain controller, so you don't want that thing to crash a lot!
Fortunately we have 2 DCs, so AD is still
available... but still.

Thanks a lot for your support and I hope somebody can help me.
