Hi
I have used recently for the odd shell scrit hear and there but nothing
really serious.
Software I have previously written has been in VB(urgh) and C++.
I have been thinking of changing my primary development landguage for some
time, this is partly because my software ideally needs to be cross platform
and partly because I feel there must be better cleaner/programmer friendly
languages out there so i have decided to bite the bullit...

XML is a huge area with so many related technologies, xpath, xsl, etc,
have any been deprecated or replaced with something better? For example,
I believe that DTD's are no longer popular (although my tiny mind has
already forgotten the new sexier way of specifying a schema).
As you can tell, it's not an area I'm overly familar with. I'm looking
at some greenfield projects so I'd rather concentrate on what is
currently considered good...

Hi all,
I've recently completed studying two C# books. I'm now looking to keep my knowledge of C# sharp (excuse the pun) by doing practice projects. Can anyone tell me where I might find C# projects to do? Is there a web site that publishes them?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards Jon.

Hello! I've just finished working on my first Python app (a
Tkinter-based program that displays the content of our application log
files in graphical format). It was a great experience that's had a
very positive response from my colleagues.
So I'd like to try something different for my second Python
application. It's a simple server that can launch and monitor the
state of our program, to help our software developers. In my mind I...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
