I've got a .BAT file that I use for executing various MS Access apps that I wrote way back in the days of 2.0. It's evolved over time, but it still contains a number of possible paths to MSACCESS.EXE, tries them all, takes the first one it finds, and dies if none is found. Seems to me like at some time or another I was able to clone this .BAT file and implement it with no path. Something about MSACCESS being a registered application.

Because Windows will be a client platform for some time, i prefer a solution that (also) supports Windows. On the net I found a number of products that i looked at, but none of them gave me the impression of a serious candidate at this moment (KNoda, Gnome DB Manager, InterBase...). 2 additional...

Sorry if this posts twice. I can only assume that my previous post didn't because I attached a small image to it to show the error. I have had an application in MSAccess 2k for about year now without issues until today. My users were using it in W98 without issue, but recently moved to WindowsXP and now are getting an error. It is with the standard image control while loading a TIF image. Loading these TIFs in W98 works but not in...

Hi I'm developing a windows app - my client uses MS Access and I've only ever worked with SQL Server. I've solved most of my problems except for the following: In the dataset designer on the table I have tried to create a FillBy method so that if on the user interface the user selects a customers name, the table is FilledByName so the SQL query would appear as follows: SELECT CustomerName, DateofBirth FROM Customer WHERE CustomerName...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
