My problem is this. I have to create several xmlReader objects each
retrieving 'for xml' formatted sql server data. I then need to peice them
together into a single document and place them into a single XPathDocument
which is then transformed throughout the web site with different

Hello,
Here's the scenario:
Object A opens a Sql Db connection to execute number of SqlCommands. Then it
needs to pass this connection to a constructor of object B which in turn
executes more commands on the same connection.
I have an understanding that if SqlConnection is passed as "value"
(unboxed), object B will create its own copy of SqlConnection, so when
object A closes its connection, it remains open for object B's copy. Is this

That mean only one SqlConnection object will be used.

how can i specify a particular range of bytes alone from a single
large file... for example say if i need only bytes ranging from
500000 to 3200000 of a file whose size is say 20MB...

I normally use SqlConnection, SqlDataReader, SqlCommand for most of my
queries but recently a friend of mine who is a long time java
programmer suggested I use the IDbConnection, IDbCommand interfaces
because the queries where compiled instead of just executed like on
the open SqlConnection. Is he correct and if so does it really make a
difference as far as performance/security, etc?
