At the end of this message I've pasted a script we're trying to modify
slightly. I don't believe it is VBscript or javascript but these are
the closest groups I could find with my limited programming knowledge.
Basically, we are trying to add a few lines to this script that will
execute a few shell commands (see comments at the very end of the
code). We think this may be ActionScript2 but aren't sure.
If you can offer any help, or know...

Hi, I created a function, which seems to work, quite well, it tells me
if a process is running in widows using the pid number (I'm aware that
the pid number in widows is not called a pid and this is really a unix
thing but what the hell). The function keeps crashing (I've included
the crash but I don't think it will do any good.), only sometimes,
most of the time it works fine and I don't know why, Could any body
suggest anything, maybe...

I've written a C program that I want to run inside an Gui wrapper that
I started to write in MFC. I have to select some files then kick off a
process running the C program. I have the initial dialog file
selection stuff written, but am not sure how to run the C program
inside a seperate thread. I'm using VS.NET 2003 and am trying to use
the Thread and Process objects, but am not sure if I can use that with
MFC. I can't compile the code...

Hi,
I'd like to make sure that only one instance of my app is running per User
Session. In addition this has to work with user rights and in a Windows
2k/2k3 and Citrix Terminalserver environment.
The code I'm using prevents the app from creating a second instance on a TS.
What do I have to change?

Hi all,
I'm wondering if it is possible in C# ( + Reflection ) to do something
like this :
Assume that a Server.exe ( which is a .Net assembly, let's say
WindowsApplication ) is running on th PC.
without creating a new instance of Server.exe. And then Search for an
interface of the Server.exe and call of method of it.

Hello,
I want to enumerate all the RUNNING SQL instances using SQL DMO.
But any of the following methods would not help
ListAvailableSQLServers Method
ListInstalledInstances Method
because they list all the installed instances and while my intent is
getting only the running instances.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
