Hi,
I am about to order Visual Studio .NET. We work with the French Canadian
version of Windows XP Professional. I don't know exactly how it works, but I
have a question that may sound stupid, but I want to ask it anyway - it's
about localization and culture:
-->We want to develop an application available in both French and English,
and someday we want to translate it into Spanish. I have been told that the
best thing to do is buy...

Hi all,
I have developed a application that supports localization in .net.
It shows all the controls with english and hindi text depending on the
culture selected.
The application runs well on windows 2000 and windows xp but when run on
windows 98 the hindi text appears as garbage. Can anyone help out
with this.(I have installed the .net framework on windows 98)
Regards,

Hello,
I've written a little program in C# to test localization. It's one form
with a label and a button. I've included two languages into my form (Dutch
and English) using localization. In the main function, the culture is set
to dutch, and it all looks fine. But when I change the culture (by pressing
the button), I get a mix of the english resx and the dutch resx. My button
gets duplicated instead of moved, and my label keeps...

Hi People,
I've found heaps of examples of how to localize C# apps from resource files
at runtime, but the examples I've seen all seem to involve resources that
are compiled in so that strings can be localized but not actually changed.
I want to be able to actually load the strings themselves from runtime,
doesn't matter where from, an .ini file, reg, xml file, database or
somewhere. I want to write an app where not only the locale can...

Hi there,
WARNING: Long-ish post!
I'm about to undertake an ASP.NET project that requires localisation (2
languages initially, then more).
I have read a little about localization, but have never needed to use it
commercially yet. I'm wandering what the best way to approach localization
is from a technical and also non technical point of view. My first thoughts

I encounter a problem with Localization features in ASP.NET 2.0.
Is seems that the framework is not able to manage neutral cultures such as
'fr', or 'de'. Those are the culture sent by default from a french or German
Internet Explorer in France or Germany.
There is a runtime error "System.NotSupportedException: Culture "fr" is a
neutral culture. It can not be used in formatting and parsing and therefore
cannot be set as the thread's...

I don't seem to "get" ASP.NET 2.0's Localization features. I've read up on
everything... and of course, everything is explained in cursory softball
terms- not any "real-world" usage way.
I hope someone can give me a clue...
Questions:
1) Do my eyes deceive me or is it true that localization is still totally
utterly disengaged from the Designer and Property Editor... either in source

Hello,
Sometime ago I followed an article (I believe MSDN) related with
localization in Asp.Net 2.0.
To make pages localization I create a class named Localization:
1 Public Class _Localization
2 Inherits Page

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
