I would like to develop some tools to better understand/analyze
windows event logs. What I've done is export the event log as a
delimited file, then try to use awk or python to parse the info.
There must be an easier way... The format of the event changes with
the event, so it seems impossible to write a generalized parser.
I guess i'm look for tricks -- recommendations on what others have
found to be effective ways to deal with...

Hello all,
we are running a delphi application with DB2 V8.01 which is causing
deadlocks when rows are being inserted into a table. Attaching the
Event Monitor Log (DEADLOCKS WITH DETAILS) here. From the log it looks
like the problem happens when 2 threads insert 1 record each in the
same table and then try to aquire a NS (Next Key Share)
lock on the record inserterd by the other thread.
Thanks

I have written a procedure which calls the CORREL function of Excel to
run correlation analysis on two arrays, then populate a table with the
resulting correlation coefficient. This process loops through several
records and recordsets. The procedure works well for awhile
(sometimes upwards of 10,000 times!), but then mysteriously begins
populating "0" as the correlation coefficient (even though I know this
to be inaccurate). Sometimes,...

VS 2005 / .NET 2.0.50727 (Sept. CTP)
I've got a Windows Service application that I've pushed out to a few
other workstations. There is an unhandled except occurring somewhere
in the application at some point, but I can't debug it because the
diagnostic info written to the event log is nearly worthless. Here's
what I am getting:
EventType clr20r3, P1 myservice.exe, P2 0.7.0.19863, P3 435a627e, P4
myservice, P5 0.7.0.19859, P6...

Hello All,
ASP.NET has stopped working on my development server. I've read the
various posts re this subject, but my circumstances seem unique. I
need to know what causes the problem and how to remedy it. If possible
I would prefer not to rebuild the server, as the SQL setup is quite
involved, and I'd prefer not to add the ASPNET account to the local
administrators group since that defeats the point of having the ASPNET
account.

Is there a ready made function in numpy/scipy to compute the correlation y=mx+o of an X and Y fast:
m, m-err, o, o-err, r-coef,r-coef-err ?
Or a formula to to compute the 3 error ranges?

PS:
numpy.corrcoef computes only the bare coeff:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
