Windows Forms and its control auto resizing

1 New Member
hi all,
i have developed the windows application in 1024*768 resolution.
its working fine it that resolution.
but when i reduce the resolution to the 800*600 , all the controls are not shown properly i.e. they are out of the page .

Can any one help me? how my application will automatically adjust to screen resolution.
also monitor size is not uniform , in samll monitor i cant see all controls.

thanks in advance.

Use the Anchor property (or in some cases the Dock property) to help fascilitate controls staying on the page.

I think an expert here, or someone really familiar here, should definitely write an article basically on anchors and adjusting the resolution because this isn't the first time this question has been... Just a suggestion.

Hi, I'm getting an exception that really has me stumped. It's sporadic at best, it's only happened a handful of times. This particular time it happened when the user pressed 'Alt-S' to save the data that they were entering. Following is all exception information. Any thoughts much appreciated. Cheers

In Windows XP display Properties/Appearance users can chose between: Windows XP Style or Windows Classic Style. Is there a way in VBA to determine the user's selection? The reason: Toolbars size taller in XP than in Classic so I need to size all those nifty windows sizing commands depending on the user's preference.

Hello, I am trying to find a way to tell if an .NET windows forms Button (System.Windows.Forms.Button) is "depressed" (pushed down). For my application, I can not use a check box control set to button style, I must use a System.Windows.Forms.Button. I can not find a way to tell when it is momentaraly pressed. I tried calling the API SendMessage with the button handle and BM_GETSTATE to get the state of the button. This will only return...

Hi, In design mode I built some windows with some controls (e.g. listboxes, labels, chgeck boxes etc.) in it, and I did set the property for the window size is set to normal. Now, when I run my app the first user's action is to maximize the window, but the controls inside the window are not resized simultaneously with my window, resulting in a real meshy window.

I got a project called "Forms" that hold some forms and stuff in my solution. A argument at startup defines wether to use a From or Console. My plan was to create a myConsole class that would also allow my application to display a Console, but i don't seem to be allowed to do this. I don't see any References that i need to add, so how do i do this.

Hello, I have a Windows Media Control (of fixed size, say 300 X 200) placed on an User Control. This user control is then used in a Windows Form. Now what I want is that this Windows Media Control should prevent the outer Form from resizing below its own size of 300 X 200 (when the Form is being resized to say 299 length and/or 199 width or something less). Thanks in advance.

I'm creating a new Windows Forms MDI application... How can I add cause the application to shut itself down after a period of ? I did this in an old COM/VB6 application and I had to have code behind practically all visible UI controls (triggered on the Mouse_Move event) that reset a global variable monitored by a timer. If the global value incremented past a certain point, then a Timer event procedure would cause a dialog to appear....

SQL Server will be used as the back-end database to a non trivial client application. In question is the choice of client application: I need to be able to speak intelligently about when one client (MS Access vs ..NET Windows Forms) would be preferred over the other. While I have some good arguments on both sides, I would appreciate your points of view on the topic.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
