Hello,
This is not a troll posting, and I've refrained from
asking because I've seen similar threads get all
nitter-nattery. But I really want to make a decision
on how best to invest my time. I'm not interested on
which language is better in *general*, just for my
purpose. My area of research is in CAD algorithms,
and I'm sensing the need to resort to something more
expedient than C++, bash scripting, or sed scripting.

Hi All,
I am pretty new to python and am having a problem
intepreting binary data using struct.unpack.
I am reading a file containing binary packed data
using open with "rb". All the values are coming through
fine when using (integer1,) = struct.unpack('l', line)
except when line contains "carriage-return" "linefeed"
which are valid binary packed values. Error = unpack
string size dows not match format. It seems that

I an then trying to use these values in a calculation like this..
$profit = ($retail - $cost) / $retail * 100;

**NOTE: This article is written using the 5.8.8 Alpha2 release of Strawberry Perl.
I am writing this article with much joy and glee. This is due to the fact that Active State no longer has a monopoly on the issue of Perl on the Windows platform
As anyone who code's Perl on the Windows platform knows, the choice that you have (had) for Perl on Windows was Active State. It worked great for your scripting but when it came to installing...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
