Need Files to Distribute .Net

1 New Member
Hi,

Okay, I have been at this for about a month. I want to include .Net 3.5 framework with my programs in Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition. After very long and dreadful research I have concluded that I am missing following folder: DotNetFX35.

Now, it would be extremly helpful if someone could put it in a compressed folder and attach it to an e-mail, then send it to me at:

<email address removed by moderator>

The folder should be under this path:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6 .0A\Bootstrappe r\Packages\DotN etFX35.

But, it may be under this path:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\SDK\v3.5\Bo otstrapper\Pack ages\DotNetFX35

I'm sorry for the lack of explanation, but I really need this folder. Please don't provide me any help text links or attempt to solve my issue unless you have had this problem and know exactly how to fix it. This is what my problem has been: Every time I try to publish my program while including prerequisites, I get 56 errors saying it can't find the files. And I need the files to include the prerequisites. And the files are in the DotNetFX35 folder. So that is my problem, and I would be very greatful to anyone who emails me the folder.

** I would like to remind you, that everyone who has Visual Basic 2008, should have this folder with the files. All you have to do is e-mail them to me, and I will be very pleased.

Thanks in Advance,
Kevin

OK, first of all, you are not allowed to include your email address in a post. This is for your own security. If you want to exchange this information, you can exchange a PM with a member that wants you to.

Second, please remember that this is a free volunteer forum. All the experts do this for no compensation. I find it extremely rude to tell the volunteer members of this site what they can and can't post in response to your question:

It's not polite to come to us for help and then tell us how we can help. Also, explaining your problem is a prerequisite for help on this forum.

Third, if everyone who has this free version of Visual Studio Express has this folder, why don't you download it yourself and make your own zip. This sounds very suspicious to me.

Could not the installer project type be used to require that .net3.5 be included?

It seems I have run afoul of an unfixable and acknowledged bug in my beloved access 97 which has no workaround other than to upgrade. Current supported upgrades are 2002 and 2003. 2003 appears to use lots 'o system resources, so I am wondering if I am best to go with the older (2002) version. Any opinions out here? In particular, which...

IOW, is there a "linker" for python? I've written a program comprised of about five .py files. I'd like to find a way to combine them into a single executable.
