Speech Recognition with Audio File

I am using Window's Vista and am trying to use speech recognition. I have an
audio file of an interview (only one person talking, and quite clearly) but I
want to use Speech Recognition to turn it into a Word or Wordpad document.
Does anyone know the right way to do this?

When I speak into the microphone, it picks up all of my words clearly, but
when I play the audio file into the microphone, the computer doesn't
recognize a single word, even though I have it loud and clear. It starts
putting down bizarre words (like ones about baseball). I have been playing
the audio file on my laptop's speakers and trying to play it into my desktop
computer's microphone. Is there a proper way to do this?

About two weeks ago I had an accident and have broken my left elbow and left wrist. For doing things like Word or e-mail (I use Outlook for) I have been using Microsoft's speech recognition and that has been working fine. However as a professional programmer I need to be able to type. Right now I can't do that (until my arm heals). I've heard of a program by ScanSoft called Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional. I called ScanSoft and...

Dear all, I have developed a voice-enabled(SALT) web application on Win2003 using SASDK Beta 3 using VisualStudio.NET. During speech recognition i.e. when the Listen element starts(user sees the audio meter on the UI) the speech recognition engine interprets even noise also and the application reacts to this noise. Is ther any possiblity of avoiding interpretion of noise by speech recognition engine so that the application doesn't react...

hi all i am using microsoft speech sdk (sapi 5.1). i have the following requirements: 1) i need to compare current input sound (through mic) with recorded sound file (say .wav). based of this, i need a measure of similarity or correlation between the two sounds (live input from mic and recorded ..wav sound). a score indicating the degree of similarity would be perfect, but even a boolean response (match / no match) would do.

In our company we are trying to add speech recognition to our products. I downloaded the Speech Recognition engine. Now there is a component called Microsoft Direct Speech Recognition in VB.Net It would be really helpful if someone can get me the link where the help would be available for this component. In case someone know any other ways of adding speech recognition to the products, please send the link. It would be helpful too.

I have installed VC++ 2008 Express and .NET Framework 3.5 on a Vista (Home Premium) machine. I'm also up-to-date with Windows. I can see in MSDN a description of a namespace called System.Speech.Recognition for which I assume the C++ equivalent is System::Speech::Recognition. I thought it would be built into the language like, say, System::Drawing is (I've changed the properties of the project to use .NET Framework 3.5 if that...

Note that although this involves SAPI, it is more a question about Timers and event handlers. I wrote a Speech Recognize handler (SAPI), and put some code in it to enable a Timer. It would not do it. If I bring this same code outside this event handler, it works just fine. Is this normal?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
