I have an application that needs a window to stay on top of the other ones, I thought that TopMost = true would be suitable for this feature but it also makes this window to stay on top of all other application running on my PC, Does anybody know How can I prevent this TopMost window appear when I switch to the other applications??

I need my communication status window to be topmost when it's open/active.
Ive set the TopMost property of the form to true and it does work ok.
After performing tasks this window generates an error or confirmation
messagebox. If this window is the Active/Selected window then the messagebox
appears in front of it ok. If I click on another application before the
messageboxes are generated, then they appear and are hidden behind the
topmost...

Hello,
I have a VB6 app that calls a VB.NET app via named pipes and a third
party component. Inside the VB.NET app I'm trying to force a form to
the top, at least temporarily. Inside a form's public sub I'm doing:
Public Sub ThisIsMySub(TheseAreMyArguments)
Me.Show
Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Normal
Me.TopMost = True

Hello,
My VB.NET application displays a Windows form in a panel
on my main form. While my application has the focus, I
want the form in the panel to have the "topmost"
position, even if it is not the active form.
Everything works as expected, but if the user selects
another application by pressing a tab in the taskbar,
then my "topmost" form still occupies the "topmost"

I'm running VS.NET 2002 and keep having problems with form keeping on top
with its TopMost property. Sometimes my program places the invoked form on
top sometimes not. Sometimes when I click on the form it stays on top as it
should, but sometimes TopMost property does not pick up so if I click to
some other program it covers the form which supposed to remain on the top.
Has anyone experienced similar problems? is there a fix? or I am...

Hi,
I need a web browser capable of handling video streams and that will
stay in front of the Z order. There are a number of video streaming
sources I watch that launch a browser window containing the video
from another browser page. I am almost always working on something
else while following the video. Consequently the video disappears behind
the application window I'm using. I've tried staggering my windows to
avoid this but even...

Hi,
I am building an application that is similar to spy++. I want the user
to be able to click on a 'window' (textbox/combo/etc) and have it
highlighted.
BUT... the window they click on may share common coordinates with
another window, so how do i find the topmost visible window, given a
toplevel window handle and some x and y coordinates?
Cheers in advance,

My question is best explained by example.
In the VB.NET 2005 code window, if you do a ctrl+f find, the find window
stays on top when you put focus back to the code so you would think that the
find window is always on top. However, when you drag another application
over the VB.NET window, the find window is not on top of that window.
Its like its TopMost, but only TopMost within the applications forms, not
all applications.

Hi all,
I have replied with my own questions to an older post entry
but after a while I thought it's better to start a new thread based on
the previous one. Perhaps with the new thread I will catch more eyes and
find someone who had the same problem and solved it or
has more information about it.
This is a summary of my problem:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
