Apart from this being a newsgroup about programming in .Net.... Have you
turned rdp on?

In Win2k3 this is available from the "Remote" Tab on the "System Properties"
Dialog accessed via "Win+Break" keystroke.

Also Win2008 is said to only install the bare minimum. Unless you have installed
it, is it possible that this is considered an optional component.

Hi, maybe anyone already knows that Apple is distributing Postgres 7.3.3 with RemoteDesktop 2. Its located in /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/rmdb.bundle/ BUT... they did not do a good job: -their- installation is using the default port which means: either -their- version works or the one that the server owner maybe installed on the same server. In our case neither our Postgres nor the one from RemoteDesktop 2 did start...

Apple just threw a massive blow to the world of Windows Mobile or any Mobile Hardware/OS company with the launch of iPhone2.0 and the developer SDK. Apple and Jobs have done what Gates did to the world of PCs. Back in the 90s when the desktop OS wars were going on, Microsoft was more open to third-party developers than they have been with their Mobile OS. This is the exact tactic Apple and Steve Jobs have used for ensuring the success of the...

I am looking for VBA code that will work with Access 2003 to enable dragging and dropping a file/folder name from Windows XP Explorer into an Access form's text box. This is a common functionality that most Windows programs have, so I'm suprised it's not easier to implement in Access/VBA. Through Google, I found two VB6 examples and one VBA example on the Access Web written by Dev Ashish. The VB6 examples used loops to keep checking...

In trunk of the svn there is a folder called PCbuild. Now lets say that I am running linux on my Personal Computer and want to build python. I go into the PCbuild directory, but wait. This is for windows not for any personal computer. Calling Windows PC seems to be something that Apple did so they would not have to directly mention Windows. Could all the places that say PC that are not referring to Personal Computers in general be...

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/158238 lists the OS's for Windows ME through Windows 95. it comes from the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion and you don't bother with the appended A's and B's because that is in a different entry. Microsoft doesn't have such a list for newer OS's, unfortunately. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
