Hi folks! I have a user who wants to see all the data in a memo field when she clicks on the cell in the table. I suspect that I will have to make a form first (which I prefer her to use). Has anyone done this before? TIA Stuart E. Wugalter Zilkha Neurogentic Institute University of Southern California wugalter@usc.edu

Hi: I have a tables in relationship to each other. When I open the main table (table 1), I see a "+" at the very left of every record. Clicking on the "+" expands the data of the linked table (table 2). Now ... when I create a form from table 1, I didn't manage show these 2 tables the same way (with the "+" at the left side of every record) as it was shown as table. Access insists of making a regular form out of table 1, but accepts...

I've got to let end users (really just one person) load billing batch files into a third party app table. They need to specify the billing cycle name, the batch name, and the input file name and then I can use these values to execute a SQL Server stored procedure to load them into the batch table from the input file (the stored procedure uses Dynamic SQL to Bulk Insert the file to a temp table then processes it into the final table.) My...

The data adapter wizard allows you to add more than one table, but that doesn't seem to work right when setting up a dataset. Some of the documentation I have read states that only one table should be selected per data adapter, and then you use a DataRelation object to pull join them together. Okay, if that's the case then fine, but why would the data adapter allow you to add more than one table if this is not how it is supposed to work....

As an old programmer just now looking at VB.net I have a question: How does one simply open one form from another ? I don't mean how does one create a new instance of that form , but rather how to refer to THAT form ? And having done this, how does one get data to and from that form ? I have read the MS tutorial on this but it is senselessly complex; there must be a simple, straightforward method, or I can only assume that MS has...

Dear Group, I have a heirarchical set of database tables, say - "order" and "order_type" and want to display a series of orders in a grid control, and in place of the order_type foreign key identifier, I would like a dropdown combo box (lookup from the "order_type" table) to change the type of the order. I also need an update command button, a delete row button and also an insert new row button. I'm sure this is a very common design...

When I open the Data Sources window and create a new data source, everything works fine. But if I have a form showing in the IDE, the Data Sources window becomes disabled and doesn't display any of the database components. Yet, when I switch to code view, I can see everything just fine. Does anyone have any idea why the Data Sources window becomes disabled when I'm viewing forms? TIA.

First, I'm completely new to databases and Access so that would explain it if there turns out to be an obvious solution to my questions. In any event if you could respond like I don't know what I'm doing it would be helpful. I've the following tables: StudentTable ------------ StudentID

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
