i created a program with datasources which i added using the datasources wizard.

my problem is the connectionstrin g server = localhost

the program will be installed in 4 computers and the mysql database will be configured in one of those pc.

what must i do to correct the connection string in my program. when i tried searching the word 'localhost' in my current project, i was able to find it in 3 locations namely: in the app.config, in settings.settin gs, and in settings.design er.vb

will it be ok if i change all the server=localhos t i find into server=[ip address of the main pc] ?

Hi all, I have accidentally deleted my web.config file so I'll have to recreate it. I have tried this in my Web.config file: <configuration> <appSettings> <add key="ConnectionString" value="server=localhost;uid=sa;password=MyPwd;database=MyDB"/> </appSettings>

Anyone having issues with their object datasources appearing and vanishing from the datasource browser? I create an object for binding as a datasource in my App_Code folder, compile my web project and it appears in the datasources in the report designer. Then I will make an aspx, setup a reportviewer control for my new report, go back to the rdlc and the object datasource sometimes just vanishes. I refresh, no luck.

What is the difference between using a Word/Excel Project via Office Tools in Visual Studio versus using a standard WinApp Project and setting a reference to Word or Excel? Specifically are there any advantages / disadvantages to using one or the other. I have always worked with Word/Excel by setting a reference in a standard WinApp and it has worked fine. Is there anything to be gained by using an Office Tools Project instead?

Is there a way to grab the connectionstring value from the web.config in another project? I created a DataAccess layer to store my typed dataset and it automatically created settings.settings and app.config. The settings.settings grab the connectionstring from app.config. The problem I have is that when I publish a website that accesses the dataset, it imports the DataAccess.dll into its bin folder. From here, it's impossible for me to...

In a repeater I have as ItemTemplate the following, among others, and everything works great: <asp:SqlDataSource ID="LocationSqlDataSource" SelectCommand="SELECT blah-blah-blah" EnableCaching="True" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:OrderingProcess %>" CacheDuration="60" FilterExpression="ID = {0}" RunAt="server">

I am trying to use a ReportViewer control in a VS 2005 web application project (not Website project). When I try to create a new report (local), I can't seem to find any method to create a datasource. I would like to use an existing class object. The examples I have found state that the class should be in the App_Code folder. However a WAP does not have an App_Code folder. Is there any way to specify a datasource for a local report in a...

i used the datasources wizard to add table "lamesa" to my dataset. if i view the xsd file, "lamesa" has a tableadapter named "lamesatableadapter". but when i do msgbox(lamesa.defaultview.count.tostring) it is equal to 0. i have 5 records. i want to code something like this to fill "lamesa"... lamesatabledapter.fill(dataset.lamesa) but i don't know how to reference the lamesatableadapter in the xsd file.

I have seen the solution about the reportviewer VB.Net 2005 but I have some question to ask you. Private Sub btnClientTest_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnClientTest.Click Me.ReportViewer1.Reset() Me.ReportViewer1.ProcessingMode = Microsoft.Reporting.WinForms.ProcessingMode.Local Dim newds As New

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
