DataSet Gets Changes

1 New Member
I create the application in VB.Net 2005. In this whole application i used the Binding for Textbox Controls for data storing and fetching from database (SQL Server 2005). I set the buttons on Form to navigate through the records to back and forward navigation.

The problem is coming that i bind the Text and Tag property of a Textbox Control to database columns. I bind the Text property to display the name and Tag property to ID column. After i run the application and click on the back navigation button then dataset gets changes whereas i did not make any change. I just click the back navigation button. I am not sure why the dataset gets changes?

One more important thing that is if i bind the only Text property then all the working is properly run. Then Click on back navigation button, dataset has no changes untill i make changes.

Tell me any suggestion or solution as soon as poosible becuase i am stuck due to this problem.

Thanks in Advance.

I'm using an in-core DataSet as an image of my application's 'database' (a multi-table Access97 mdb file). Updates are made to the DataTables within the DataSet via forms with bound TextBoxes, then written to the database... or at least that's what's supposed to be happening. Unfortunately, I've discovered that while it appears that when I create a new record/row I'm successfully updating the Access database, once the Update is...

Hello, How come when I add a new row to my dataset table it shows up as changed (agencyData.Haschanges() = True) but when I delete a row the dataset thinks here are no changes(agencyData.Haschanges() = False)???? The bizaar thing is the row count before the delete and after is different so it definately is being deleted but I cannot update my main database table because the dataset thinks there are no changes?

wonder if anyone can help me here, i've a framework 1.1 dataset which i serialize in framework 1.1 and deserialize in framework 2.0. This is fine, problem is that i want to modify some of the records in framework 2.0 and serialize the data so framework 1.1 can deserialize it and do what it required. Is this possible?

OK i have came to the conclusion that since this app will be run on multiple computers that loading a complete database and then updating on exit is a moot point. I have tried several ideas submitted, but i am unable to get one of them to work completely. Here is the code i had before i realized that when i filled the dataset in the form load procedure that it would "ruin, replace, mess up" the dataset named the same thing on the other form....

Where is the logic error that causes the attached code to adds two rows instead on one to the datagrid? The code correctly update the datasource with one row, but the datagrid gets two new rows. What can I do to correct this? Circumstances: There are textboxes on the form where the users will enter data. The

My experience with databases using C# has been pretty limited thus far. Mostly I just use a SELECT statement to populate a DataSet, which is just read-only (mostly for display on a web page), or maybe go so far as to build an UPDATE or INSERT query with a couple parameters and just execute it against the database. Currently, this is all done within a web service, which acts as a kind of protective barrier between the actual database and...

Im using the new binding features of Visual Studio 2005. I have done the steps to create a bound data source, and selected all 40 tables from the database. The wizard generated the necessary code for the dataset and can be seen in the solution explorer under "db_exampledataset.xsd". My worry is the size of the dataset definition, specifically that the "db_exampledataset.Designer.cs" is huge, about 51000 lines of code, the dataset class...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
