menu control event question

13 New Member
I've got a Menu control that will be used for navigation around my site. I would like to have my menu be a series of images with mouseover image swapping. I found a blog entry that seems promising , but it makes use of the Menu's ItemDataBound event. The MSDN docs don't show that the menu control throws the ItemDataBound event... but a google search shows it looks like plenty of people are using the Menu control with the ItemDataBound event.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Am I crazy (or dumb)?

Maybe I should give up on the menu control. I have a Web.sitemap and would like to bind it to some control that will eventually allow me to preform role based security trimming on it, as well as change images based on current theme. Any suggestions?

A97. If you set a forms properties to ShortcutMenu = No, the entire form is disabled from displaying a shortcut menu. If you set the property to Yes, all controls have a shortcut menu. I have a form that I would like a shortcut menu on 1 control and no shortcut on any other control in the form. But the controls that have no shortcut display a default shortcut. Access help states " If you set the ShortcutMenuBar property to a value

How can I use the designer to add a context menu to a class which inherits from a control, e.g. treeview, without adding the context menu to a form? For example, to add a context menu with "Select All" and "Clear Selection" to a checked list box? Thanks, Aaron Queenan.

I have a masterpage define that contains a asp:menu control. My menu control has items that do not have a NavigateUrl assigned which causes them to postback on the current page... Now the issue is that when they postback the MasterPage is rendered last and the MenuItemClick event on the menu control doesn't fire until after the Page_Load event fires... How can I capture the MenuItemClick prior to the Page_Load...

I use to get popup events when I checked out the menu coding. That was a while ago. Something I did in the interim must have suppressed those events because I just noticed I don't get them any more. What could I do that will cause menu item Popup events not to be raised? I've been looking but really don't know where to look anymore. Second question. A control has a context menu.

Hi all, I'm just wondering if any one can help me with this development issue I'm having. I've created a customized treeview control to handle the particular tasks to which I'll be using it. Within the control I'm dynamically creating a context menu and assigning it to the ContextMenu property of the control -- think of this like the default context menu for standard textboxes -- the context menu has a number of menu items that reflect...

Dear fellow software engineers, Is the web menu in asp 2.0 essentielle a useless control ? How many people( including msdn itself) are using server menu controls? Its a menu which always postback to server, which cant be caught on the event of a menuitem. Wouldnt we rather use other ways of making menus which are essentially clientsite ? With its postback its certainly not high on usebility. Then we have to use ajax or javascript...

I'm working on a plotting control. The plotting control will have a context menu with basic commands for "scaling", "zooming", etc. Is there a way that, from the parent form, I can add more commands to the control's context menu? I'm envisioning a case where the control has a set of context menu items, and the parent form also has a set of context menu items. Thanks.

I created a user control that handles certain keystrokes, e.g. Ctrl-C for cut, Ctrl-V for paste, plus other more specialized keystrokes. I want to list these in the menubar like any other menu items. Once I assign a Shortcut Key to the menu item, that menu sees the event before the control, as one would expect. The question is, then, inside the menu item handler what code do I need to pass on the keystroke to a control? This is slightly...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
