I had Visual Studio .NET installed on my system for a
while and then decided I would install a second copy of
Windows 2000 on my second drive and use it strictly for
developing Visual Basic apps. I reformatted and
reinstalled Windows 2000 on my first and my second drives.
On the second drive I tried to install Visual Studio .NET.
Of course, the install program said I needed to update
some components so it ran the updates on the Component...

I've never had problems with ASP, but I got 2 new
computers, and when I create a web application, they both
fail with an http/1.1 500 Internal server error. In the
event log I then start getting the following error
approximately every 20 seconds.
aspnet_wp.exe could not be started. The error code for
the failure is 80070545. This error can be caused when
the worker process account has insufficient rights to
read the .NET Framework...

I set up a web server machine using Windows 2003 server, Web Edition.
Every time I try to do anything with it I get an error message that
says that "the specified Wew server is not running ASP.NET version
1.1. You will be unable to run ASP.NET applications or services".
What is the cure for this? I have gone to the directory
%systemroot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322
(D:\WINWEB03\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322), and run:

I have been trying to install .NET Framework SP1 in my system but am unable to do so. The 10.2 MB SP gets downloaded successfully after which the installation starts by itself from within the browser (while I update my PC by navigating to IE's Tools--->Windows Update) but everytime a dialog box pops-up with the following message:
The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be...

Just brought up a fresh installation. Installed IIS first, then VS.NET 2003.
Now some of the applications I'm downloading complain that the ASP.NET
server version is 1.0 and not 1.1. Um... I've checked, here, and it looks
like ASP.NET is v1.1. The Framework certainly is. I'm confused???

At the bottom of the default Error page that appears when Unhandled
Exceptions occur, what exactly is the difference between the "Microsoft
..Net Framework Version" and the "ASP.NET Version"?
I understand that the ASP.Net version is the version of ASP.Net that
the current site is running under and it can be retreived with
System.Environment.Version.ToString.
What exactly is the Microsoft .NET Framework Version that is displayed?
It is...

Before this error I got an error in the web config for this tag so I took it
out ---> <xhtmlConformance mode="Legacy"/>
Maybe I need to upgrade to SP2 like on my workstation? Also, it looks like

I have been trying to instal AutoCAD 2008 on a single PC and get the
following
Microsoft .NET Framework security error.
I have updated to the latest .NET Framework 2.0 software, however, this
error occurred with only v1.1 installed.
I also got the same error when trying to install an old ACAD 2005 version
(as
a check). I have successfully installed this version a couple of years ago.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
