Hello,
I've got a text-based .inc file that I'm using for my asp.net site's header.
I thought about a user control, but if possible, I'd like to avoid it for
simplicity's sake. In the main page, I do a response.writefile("header.inc")
for inserting the header. I have one render block:
<%= User.Identity.Name %>
Unfortunately, it seems that this is outputted as literal text to the
browser. I've tried a user control, but it doesn't seem...

What is the best way to implement a front end for an access database via a
web browser on a private intranet?
This is totally new ground for me. I want to allow users to enter
information into a database and get reports via the normal browser
interface.
How secure is this? If the browser has access to the access application, do
the users then have rights to that directory that would allow them to reach
the database itself?

My web app writes some binary data to a file at the client site via
Response.Write and Response.BinaryWrite. This action is accomplished
in response to a button click, with C# code behind as follows:
private void SubmitButton_Click (object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
// Set up the response to write the print file to the client
Response.Clear ();
Response.AppendHeader ("Content-Disposition",
"filename=WebPrint.prn");

Is there a way to obtain user information (using LOGON_USER server
variables) when you have set up the security to Anonymous Access? I
have tried setting the security to both Anonymous + Window Integrated,
without any luck. I'm using IIS 6.0 on Windows Server 2003
Thanks in advance!

I have an ASP.NET webpage that allows a user to upload a file from the
client browser. I want to display an animated gif and report on the
progress of the upload. The <INPUTtag used for uploading files
requires the form to be posted. Posts stop javascripts and GIF
animations from running for the duration of the upload until a
response to the post is received from the codebehind and the page is
re-rendered.
To get around this problem,...

Before anything else, I am not a very technical expert when it comes to VBA coding.
I learned most of what I know by the excellent Access/VBA forum from bytes.com (formerly thescripts.com).
Ergo, I will be writing this article intended for those who are in the same level, or maybe lower, of my technical knowledge.
I would be using layman's words, or maybe, my own words as how I understand them, hoping, you will understand it the same way that...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
