Have you tested mywindows.exe separately? You will probably run into a permissions problem using a browser. Did you get an error message?

Right now, I have my screensaver calling the IsWindowVisible api call from user32.dll and it seems that there ought to be a way to determine if the window is visible another way. I found that I could test for the EXISTANCE of a window by trying to create a graphics object from a handle to the preview window, but unlike the api call, this will report the window as still in existance even if the preview window is NOT visible to me,...

The login page, either a web form or windows form, calls a web service (thin layer) that actually evoke a business object to authenticate user. In the internet application after the user credentials are verified, the user id is saved in cookies so it can be referred later by the business class using httpcontext. I would...

Hello, I'm running an asp.net, intranet web application using .net framework 1.1 on IIS5.1 / 6.0. Through the web application, I would like to press a button on the web page, have another window (not web-based or part of current application) brought to the front and focused (findwindow api) and have the button scrape the contents of the focused window so the contents can be parsed and entered into the web application. Ideally, I would...

Most of the threads I am using in my C# application have names (Thread.Name = ). When I am debugging my application within VS 2005, I have a UI to stop my application and the threads it started. In the VS 2005 output window I was expecting to see thread names within each thread exit line, but I am not seeing any. For example, I am seeing lines similar to this one

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
