Deleted files or are they?

Hi
When running a Systemtec/Norton scan various jpeg/mpeg files are listed as
being scanned (they do not appear as dangerous). However I understand these
files where manually deleted sometime ago. Thing is, I can't actually find
the folders/files in the folder list even when showing hidden files, why are
they shown as being scanned when they apparently don't exist/display?- is
this a Windows or Sytemtec issue. I've IM with Sytemtec on a number of
occasions and they frankly don't seem to have a clue.

I'd crosspost your question to an appropriate Windows group, but you don't
say which version/edition of Windows you are using.
This is a .NET programming group, and you are unlikely to find the
information you seek here.

I have a directory with a lot of jpg files. I want to delete the small ones. Small means less than 100 pixels by 100 pixels. I use File.list() to get the list of files. I use ImageIcon(filename) to create an ImageIcon. I use getIconHeight() and getIconWidth(). then I try to delete the file if it meets the "small" test. I tried to use File.delete(), but most of the time this returns "false" and the file is not deleted. If I use...

Our customer (of our ecommerce system) wants to be able to preserve deleted entities in the database so that they can do reporting, auditing etc. The system is quite complex where each end user can belong to multiple institutional affiliations (which can purchase on behalf of the user). The end user also has a rich trail of past transactions affiliations etc. Thus in the schema each user entity is related to many others which in turn...

In .NET and C#, is there anyway to create a hook for a specific directory or file where my C# .NET software can monitor which static web files are requested by the browser? What I am doing is writing temporary files to a specific directory for a specific user, and then when the user has requested each file in that directory, I want to delete all of them. It will also work if I can delete each temporary file after it is requested. ...

A *lot* of our teams code is being deleted from the InitializeComponent() section of a winform, such as Grid settings, event handler hooks, layout settings etc. This mainly seems to happen to 3rd party controls such as Infragistics grids and menu bars and toolbars, but it also happens on native .net tools. I know you're thinking that I modified that procedure, but that's not the case, the designer generates it wholly, i don't even move...

Good morning at all, i have to implement a server, that every n-seconds (eg. 10sec) sends to other clients, which files and directory has been deleted or modified. i build a n-tree, for each files on harddisk there's a node into n- tree, this solution is not good for large hard disk.. and i can't use inotify (it's forbidden), and only c solutions are accepted without third party software or external calls.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
