Hi all
Is there a way in which I can get the Form's position on the screen in
pixels? I am having to position another form in relation to an MDI Child
form, so I cannot use the Location property, because the MDI Child is
usually 0,0 (Top left in the parent container) so if I position my other
form in that location it goes to the top left of the entire screen. I have
tried using the overloaded ShowDialog method to make the MDI Child form...

I have a Control derived class. When the parent of the control changes the
control's Location property, the stack overflows. I have not found a way to
find out what was on the stack when it does overflow. All I know is that
the program is either stopped due to an exception at the end of Main or has
exited after the Stack Overflow exception. (Both cases are Debug builds
running in the debugger.)
After a lot of trial and error (mostly...

If you're listening, I want the middle of the calendar (showing 1 month) to
open below the cursor position. It currently opens just to the right and
below the cursor position.
I hunted through the code, but can't determine what to alter.
Very nice piece of work, by the way.
Thanks

Hello experts, this is a repost but I have been (much) more clear.
I want to know the position of the horizontal scrollbar in a textbox
as a percentage
- if the horizontal scrollbar is hard left,
I want to display 0% on the form.
- if the horizontal scrollbar is smack in the middle,
I want to display 50% on the form.
- if the horizontal scrollbar is 2/3rd along the X-axis,

Hello!
I'm writing user control, the custom progress bar. It should show current
position, when application is playing an MP3 file. The problem is that
sometimes, when it redraws itself, it flickers undesirably, spoiling all the
impression. I can not find any regularity in its behaviour. It moves
smoothly, then suddenly flickers, and continues moving.
Here is the fragment of my code:
Private Sub PlayingSlideBar_Paint(ByVal sender As...

I am writing a windows application using VS 2005. I have a user control that
returns customer data.
I have placed this customers user control on several forms in my
application. In the OnLoad event of the customers user control I have a data
access function that retrieves data from a database to populate the control.
The problem I have is that having the data access function in the OnLoad
event causes an error in design time for the...

I'm new(ish) to css, comfortable using tables, but trying real hard to move away.
Please see http://84.9.125.31/developer/css_test/test5.html
NB This issue is with IE & Opera - I've tried IE 6&7 and both have the same result. It works fine in FF. Thanks to Petr Stanicek for the original example.
As you can see the table is 800px wide in the middle column and it's vertical position is affected by the amount of text in the left or right...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
