Hi,
I have a Windows Service that uses a referenced dotnet-dll.
In my dll I set some public string to a stringvalue that I
get from reading a xml-file(my config file). It works fine
if I use it in a vb-form. But since Windows Services ?
executes? in windows\system32 I can´t locate my xml-config-
file.
I don´t want to set different "compiling-statements" such

be able to change these settings without restarting the service. Something
similar to a web.config with web services. Whenever I change a setting, for
example the folder that data is written to, the change does not seem to
register. What I believe is that the app.config is read in at the startup of

It works fine if I start it from the VS IDE -- F5 then installutil
I then created a package, wherein the content of app.config has "" for the
values. With the idea that my user, can enter the information before
starting the service. However; this doesn't work. I'm very confused.

Hello all. I'm writing an application that is writing trace information
that can be viewed in trace.axd. I would like to rename this and use a
different name specific to my application. I know the name of this is set in
machine.config. I was hoping it would be possible to change this in
web.config. I got it to work, kind of. Good news is I can change the name in

When using Web Services from ASP.NET 1.1, you got a "Web References" folder
in your project containing an entry for the web service references you
added. The property page for this entry contained the URL to the web service
and you could change this URL if you wanted to point to another web service
and then you could do an "Update Web Reference" to refresh the references.
In ASP.NET 2.0, you get a "App_WebReferences" folder instead, but...

How do I programmatically change (read/write) the values in this app.config
file at runtime? Specifically I want to change the client endpoint address
but it would be nice to change other values too. I thought this is what

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
