DST on client PC's 1 hour ahead of server (updates done late)

I have a server (Win2k3 SBS) that is a domain controller and exchange server.
I failed to apply the DST patches until after the DST kicked in. I have
since completed successfully the patches and the time on the server is
correct. However this seems to have caused problems on the client PC's(XP
Pro SP2). All of the client PC's that have the KB931866 patch installed are
now 1 hour AHEAD!!! When I UNCHECK the "Automatica lly Adjust for DST" in the
Time\Date Properties the time is correct? Also, if I UNINSTALL the patch the
time is correct? I have tried manually resetting the time on the client PC's
but after about 15 minutes it jumps AHEAD an hour. I tried manually setting
it back 2 hours but that didn't work neither did changing the time in the
BIOS. I even went as far as disconnecting from the domain, rebooting the PC,
changing the bios date to BEFORE DST kicked in, booting up into the local PC
not the domain and applying the patch. When I reboot after that after
connecting the ethernet cable and booting into the domain, the time adjusts
again 1 hour AHEAD!!!! This is very frustrating. Any suggestions will be
greatly appreciated.

I don't see how this relates specifically to .NET. You might get a
better response in a more appropriate forum.

Anyway, are you absolutely sure that both the time and the time zone
on the DC are correct? The Windows Time service will try to
synchronize the pc's clock to the DC. If the time zone is incorrect
on the DC then the Windows Time service may read an incorrect UTC
value from it.

What forum would you suggest? I selected General and I have no idea where
that goes?

The time and the time zone on DC are correct. However I do notice that the
time zone is Pacific US & Canada;Tiajuana , whereras the time zone on the
clients that have the KB931866 patch applied are using the Pacific US &
Canada time zone. the Pacific Tiajuana time zone is separate. When i
uninstall the patch, the time zone description is in line with the DC.

Please forward this to the appropriate group or let me know how or if I can
do that.

Thanks
Gil

I'm writing an article and I need your informed opinions, so I ask you this: 1. Doesn't the web-enabled app generally run slower for one reason or another? 2. Isn't the fact that application graphics must be limited, just proof of #1, especially with low bandwidth situations? 3. Aren't the web-enabled apps really less feature rich because the developer has to emulate the controls of a thick/fat client app, and sometimes you just can't...

hi, everyone. I'm writing a 2-players game that should support network mode. I'm now testing it on 1 PC since I don't have 2. I directly use sockets, and both client and server do computations, the only data transfered is user mouse/kbd input. It works synchronously, but somehow, when I play in client window, both client and server have 17 fps, while when playing in server window, server has 44 fps while client ...

I am relatively new to .Net and C#, but I hav ebeen programing in other languages and done some COM work for a number of years. I am attempting to understand how to map an older program architecture into .Net -- not looking to do it at this time, just to understand how I would achieve it. In the old environment, we had two classes, a client and a server class, that managed a data object. The server object knew how to interface with the...

I need to log the client's machine names, and I found on the web istruction on how to use REMOTE_HOST server variable while enabling Reverse DNS on IIS. Using also a query to the DNS retrieves only the names of machine that are registered in the DNS (like servers).

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
