Hi,
I am trying to read a XML-File which I marked as embedded resource from
within the code of my DLL. Unfortunately it doesn't work.
On my search for the error I inserted some code for outputing all
Resources names to a simple textfile. Here nothing is output.
Here my code (a little messy after about 3 hours of debugging):
// Use the LoadXml method to load the XslTransform

I am trying to create a single .EXE that will upgrade a product by the
doing the following:
1) Detect the location of the current installation (DONE)
2) Upgrade the existing config file (DONE)
3) Overwrite a DLL in the program files folder with a new DLL.
For 3) I was trying to embed a DLL as a resource and then write it out
as a file over the existing DLL. I just can't work out how to do this.

the creation of database tables.
i have put a sql script ("automation.sql") as an embedded resource in the
custom installer project (whose name space is "installer"). here's the code
i'm using to get the script:
private function getEmbeddedText(byval fileName as string) as string
dim assemblyName as string

I'm fairly new to VB .NET and programming in general, and I want to
give my program its own icon without it being a separate file. I have
the icon as part of the project, and its Build Action is set to
Embedded Resource. I've searched high and low for the code that will
actually make it load as the program's default icon, but nothing I've
found works. Can someone give me the code necessary to do this?

I know the .Net Cursor class doesn't work with color cursors. So I'm
currently using the LoadCursorFromFile API with reflection to set color
cursors:
here is my code:
public static extern IntPtr LoadCursorFromFile(
string fileName );
IntPtr hwdCursor= LoadCursorFromFile( "color.cur" );
myCursor.GetType().InvokeMember("handle",BindingFlags.Public |

I have the latest version of Visual Studio 2008 Professional, which
allows you to create resource files (this is the .resx file, no?),
unlike the Express version, which does not.
I am trying to cut and paste code that MSDN recommends for playing a
simple wav file from inside an embedded file, like presumeably the
'resources' file .resx is. I want to embed the .wav file in a
'resource file' since I don't want the user storing the file on...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
