A friend of mine pointed out the other day that certain elements on my web
site are too small. But in most of what I publish, fonts are at default size
or smaller, and my images are easy to see. I am viewing at 800x600 right now
by the way, because that's what I can comfortably see.
Times New Roman default pitch is what - 12px?
With people increasing their screen resolutions, is it possible for "default
size to ever become too small in...

Could someone please tell me how I can check out the correctness of a site's
coding. I have brought about a website, checked it out with various
browsers. It seemed to be ok. Then I come across a browser that has problems
with my site, and I'd like to find out what I have done wrong. Apologies if
this question has been asked a million times before, however I do not have
this information and would be grateful if someone could provide me with...

Though I have designed and implemented a number of large reasonably
well received web sites I do not consider myself a graphics designer
I am now for the first time going to work with a graphics designer. I
notice that in the draft design the idea will be that many 'pages'
will in fact be pdf files. I suppose I exaggerate slightly but the
site could turn out to be a series of 'contents'pages comprising links
to pdf files which are for...

Hello, I'm beginning to create a web site but I'm facing a big problem
for which I didn't find any solution!! I'm using the 1024*768 screen
resolution, and when I change it to 800*600 the page is visible but
with the scroll bars. So the design is no longer the same..
Same thing if I work on a 800*600 resolution, the page is too ugly to
bee seen..
I don't want to work with frames. Concerning the creation of tables
with fixed width (100 %),...

At one point, someone posted a really handy four-letter mnemonic for
evaluating web sites. It was something like OSDI - something,
Structure, something, Interface.
Anyone happen to know what this was?
Thanks! -Cloy

Hi,
Since I have made changes to my website it's been a complete flop. According
to the logs, as soon as visitors have downloaded the index page they are
off. I can't figure out why?
http://www.review-a-gadget.com/
Is there anything obvious that I am missing? Are there problems with some
browsers? Please let me know if you notice anything.

i'm building a site about extreme accessibility, i.e.: how (and why)
to get sites to become fully accessible, *beyond* W3C Web
Accessibility Initiative guidelines. it's far from being completed (i
just started it off!), so i'd very much appreciate any comment on the
site/issue: www.accessibility.ws

Hello,
I have a single Web Site Project (WSP, not Web Application Project/WAP). I
don't have a WDP project with this, so I don't have a need for a solution
file (.sln). I have noticed that my settings in the References, Build,
Accessibility, and Start Options property pages for my WSP are persisted
when I close and open my web site (I have set it up as a local IIS web site,
not file system).
I understand that my References are...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
