How to add the Http header "Accept: application/dime" to a web service request

79 New Member
Hi.

I use WSE 2.0 to call a web service method which returns some attachments together with the response.

The web service can send it's attachments using either MIME format(widely used in the java world, which has no support in .net) or DIME(a Microsoft standard supported in WSE 2.0).

In order for the web service to know which standard will be uses, any request to this method must contain the "Accept: application/dime" in the HTTP Header of the request.

That's all I need to do: add a line to the http header.

Do you have any idea how this can be done? I must remind you that myh proxy classes are derived from WSE 2.0 classes, and I don't have access to the HttpWebRequest underneath.

Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to display a word document inside a web page, but everytime I do I get this error: Error Type: Microsoft VBScript runtime (0x800A0046) Permission denied: 'CreateObject' Does anybody know the correct way to do this? I don't want to link to a document, but rather display a word file inside the asp page.

I have an application I created called "JpegViewer.exe". It simply loads a Jpeg file and displays in on the screen. It works great, in my lab. When I am using it at a customer site, things change. Occasionally, it blows up with an Application Exception. It seems to only die at the customer site

I stumbled across Application from someone else's code, and I can't find out squat about by searching MS, Google, or Google Groups. For the most part, this is returning the fully-qualified name of the server and path to my application, such as: http://devserver/testapp However, on 1 of my test servers, it returns:

Can someone point me to a code sample that illustrates executing long running tasks (asynchronous) from a web application in ASP.NET? I assume that Web Services might come into play at some point, but I'm not sure how to get started. For example, I have an application that, upon a user initiating through a button or link click, will go out and generate a bunch of files (this could take several minutes). This will happen in batches, so I...

I have a global.asax file with Application_Start defined and create some static data there and in another module used in the asp.net application and I realize that static data is shared amongst child apps of an IIS application and can be used by multiple users during the application life cycle and for multiple page loads for the same or different page under a root application. What I don't understand and need to know is whether that...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
